An Animated Title
While it's true that you can't judge a book by its cover, it's also true that a boring cover gathers few readers. This month's Lesson Browser article explores several techniques for sprucing up the title screen. As usual, the code for these techniques would not be possible without the incredible talents and generosity of the Liberty BASIC community. The techniques used in animatedTitles.lsn are listed here as well as any applicable links to codes and programs that made this article possible.
The flying dove is a popular animated gif available and used throughout the web. A Google search using animated gif dove will yield several sites for downloading this file. This particular dove download can be found at [dove5.gif]. The individual frames were then extracted using [Microsoft GIF Animator]. Finally, the individual frames were copied and pasted into MSPaint™ and saved as .jpg files. The file, animatedTitles.lsn, is included in the zipped archive animatedTitles.zip, of this newsletter.
